BROAD CUT FARM – PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

Outline Planning Application ref: no. 24/01740/OUT

4th March 2026 – Refusal of Outline Planning Permission

Outline planning permission is refused for the following reason(s):-

  1. The proposal would increase vehicular traffic and would require mitigation, which includes the provision of additional crossing points for pedestrians, on an already busy strategic motorway roundabout and local highway network. This would have a severe, adverse, residual cumulative impact on the surrounding highway network, which would be contrary to Policy LP27 (part a) of the Wakefield District Local Plan 2036 and paragraph 116 of the National Planning Policy Framework.

The applicant now has 6 months in which to lodge an appeal.
